Emergency cable repairs taking place in Radford Boulevard

Work has begun to carry out essential repairs to an underground electricity cable in Radford Boulevard, Nottingham.

We are the electricity distributor for the region, responsible for looking after the cables and wires, pylons, poles and substations that deliver electricity to homes and businesses throughout Nottingham.

The work involves digging and locating a fault that has been detected on a 132,000 volt cable on the junction between Radford Boulevard and Hartley Road. 4-way temporary traffic lights have been installed and pedestrian crossings are being redirected.

Mike Kershaw from Western Power Distribution said: “The work is necessary for the area but we do appreciate the inconvenience that our work may cause. The work is being done during the school holidays to minimise disruption and our Engineers are working shifts between 7.30am and 9pm each day to get the job done as quickly as possible.”

Power supplies are not being affected while the work is taking place.

It is hoped that the work will be complete by 11th August.
