On Saturday June 4th, they will set off from Okehampton Fire Station wearing full fire kit and breathing apparatus on an 83 mile hike over 24 hours!

Stopping off at various fire stations on the way, their challenge will finish at Lynton Fire Service the following day at 09:00 hrs.

Ian explains the reason behind this challenge: “We wanted to set ourselves a challenge that would test our endurance but also raise some vital funds for two local charities; the Fire Fighters Charity and Children’s Hospice South West.

“We hope local people will cheer us on as we pound the streets of North Devon and make a donation via our charity page to support these fantastic charities.”

You can lend your support at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/BAChallenge

All the money that israised will be split equally between the two charities.

Ian added: “I would like to thank WPD for supporting me in my retained role and their donation to support our challenge, along with everyone who has donated so far. We look forward to seeing everyone lending their support on the 4th.”
