Many hands make light work

Thirty four of our apprentices have given a massive boost to St. Margaret’s Hospice in Somerset recently as an integral part of their training programme.

It costs the hospice around £12m to provide care and support to more than 3,800 patients each year. St. Margaret’s rely on generous donations from the public to maintain a fresh turnover of stock in their local charity shops which generates around 31% of their annual income, so with our support over the four day challenge, more than 13,000 charity bags were posted to local residents resulting in more than 2,000 bags of donations being received.

In addition to dropping and collecting the donation bags, another group were busy working at the hospice’s distribution centre, building a new racking and storage facility which would make the sorting and distribution to the shops much easier in the future.
