Poly tunnel for Three Ways School

Students from Three Ways School in Bath are expanding their enterprise skills thanks to the addition of a new poly tunnel funded by Western Power Distribution.

Three Ways is a special needs academy offering a unique, stimulating learning environment for pupils with learning difficulties and disabilities aged 3-18.

Lucy Beattie from the school explains how the poly tunnel will equip the 6th form students with valuable work experience: “The poly tunnel will add a new dimension to the skills we can provide. The fruit and vegetables grown will be used in food technology classes in school to make healthy meals for themselves.

“The students work alongside staff gaining an insight into crop selection, ground maintenance right through to harvesting and cooking the produce.”

Tracy Carr from WPD added “It was great to spend some time with the students and see how the poly tunnel will support greater independence for the older students and a space for everyone to enjoy.”
