The Awards recognise and celebrate volunteers who give up their time and skills to support the charity, which currently has more than 2,000 volunteers across Wales and England. In the last year they have provided 300,000 hours for fundraising, volunteering in shops and at events, or helping to run support services.

Megan has been a fund-raiser and member of the charity’s Sing with Us choir since losing her grandfather to cancer in 2013, when she was eight-years-old. During that time she has raised cash by manning stalls, taking part in bucket collections and baking cakes, and has even completed several five and ten mile walks.

WPD Distribution Manager, Ian Lawrence who presented Megan with her award said: “She thoroughly deserves this accolade. She’s a great fund-raiser and it’s good to see someone so young show so much determination and commitment to such a worthy cause.”
