G83/1-1  Stage 1 - Small-Scale Embedded Generation

If you wish to install a small-scale embedded generation unit (SSEG unit) using one of the following technologies:

  • Domestic Combined Heat and Power (CHP)
  • Photovoltaic (PV)
  • Fuel cells
  • Micro hydro power

you must comply with the requirements of:-

Engineering Recommendation G83/1-1 – Recommendations for the connection of small-scale embedded generators (up to 16A per phase) in parallel with public low-voltage distribution networks.

The connection process for installing SSEG varies according to whether you wish to install a single SSEG unit, or multiple SSEG units as part of a larger project.
