Saddle up and away they go...
Young riders at a local riding school will be sitting in comfort thanks to the donation of a new riding saddle.
Hazel Joyes who works for Western Power Distribution, based in Taunton, recently completed a 10k charity run and donated over £300 in sponsorship to the riding school which was matched pound for pound by her employer. The donation enabled the riding school to purchase a much needed new saddle.
Jess Dixon from Conquest Centre for Disabled Riders said: “Around 150 riders attend the Centre each week, many with profound learning difficulties others with physical disabilities, some since birth or following an accident or illness. As you can imagine with this number of people we get through a lot of equipment and it is great that Hazel chose CCDR as her beneficiary.”
Conquest Centre for Disabled Riders is a registered charity and caters for children and people of all ages and abilities with the opportunity for regular horse riding – giving a sense of achievement and independence.
