Christmas has come early for children at St David’s Primary School in Newport thanks to a donation of books from staff at Western Power Distribution (WPD).
For the past few years power company staff have been collecting books during the year, which they then donate to worthy causes.
This year, they chose to support St David’s Primary School – much to the delight of the children and their teachers.
Head teacher, Bree Ellsworthy explained: “We are very grateful to staff at WPD for this early Christmas present. It’s so nice to have good quality books which the children can learn from.
“Our pupils could hardly wait to get their hands on them – they were just like bees around a honey pot,” said Mrs Ellsworthy.
