keen to be green

keen to be green is our new environmental initiative. Its aim is to protect and enhance the communities served by us.

keen to be green is designed to benefit a wide range of environmental activity undertaken by groups and organisations — including registered charities, schools and voluntary organisations which provide support to elderly or vulnerable people.

We are particularly keen to consider applications which fall within one or more of the categories below:

Wildlife Habitat - Creation and Protection

This could be the development of tree, shrub or wildflower planting; The creation of a pond (as part of a bigger scheme);

Developing a butterfly garden; Building log piles for insects;

Wildlife monitoring projects; Tree planting (seasonal).

Reducing Waste

Community composting schemes;

Recycling projects;

Community clean ups.

Conserving Energy

Smart use of energy;

Smart use of water;

Walking or cycling initiatives.
