Brechfa Forest Wind Farm Connection

Welcome to the Brechfa Forest Wind Farm Connection Project website.

Western Power Distribution (WPD) was asked by RWE Innogy UK Limited (Innogy) to provide a new electricity connection between the Brechfa Forest West Wind Farm and the existing electricity network.

On the 6 October 2016, the Brechfa Forest Wind Farm Connection was granted consent by Greg Clark, the Secretary of State for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).  The decision letter and associated supporting documentation has been published on the National Infrastructure Planning website.  For more information please click here.

In these pages, you can find information about the early stages of the project, the consent process and the connection route we are taking forward, along with the associated interactive map

Documents detailing our consultation strategy and the options that we considered during Stages 1, 2 and 3 can be found in the library.

We would like to thank everyone who took part in the local consultation during the four years of planning this project.  The feedback received had a significant influence on our final proposal and we look forward to continuing these relationships with local communities over the coming years.

We assure residents that we will carry out the construction work responsibly and safely.
