South West

Upcoming events

Western Power Distribution will be holding a consultation event on the growth of electricity demand and generation in the South West licence area on 5th December 2017 at Sandy Park, Exeter.

We will be presenting the scenario analysis that will be undertaken with Regen, which assesses the potential growth of demand and generation on the South West electricity network. We will explain how this scenario planning will inform our thinking on strategic grid investment.

The consultation will explore two key areas of the study:

  • Forecasted growth of disruptive demand technologies and residential/ non-residential developments
  • Forecasted growth of electricity generation technologies
There will also be a snapshot of the work WPD and Regen are doing to understand the potential growth and operating modes of electricity storage on the network.
