The on-going development of our staff is an important priority for WPD. Every year each employee takes part in an annual performance development review with their line manager where development opportunities and training requirements are discussed.
The company has its own dedicated training facility in Taunton and Tipton where the majority of operational and technical training takes place. The centre has a national reputation for excellence and often provides external training for other electricity companies.
If considered appropriate and relevant, employees may also take additional professional qualifications at WPD and the company will often consider sponsoring these extra studies if they are related to a person’s role with the business. The company believes that by encouraging on-going training staff will feel motivated to progress their careers at WPD.
