A battery and energy storage event: Reimagining the future of battery and energy storage technologies.

Key topics to be addressed at the event include:

  • Electric Vehicles - battery design, performance and safety, and managing grid impact of EV’s.
  • Energy systems - renewable energy and battery storage, technical and commercial challenges of connecting storage to the grid and the future potential of the V2X market. 

Nigel Turvey - Network Strategy and Innovation Manager at WPD - will be chairing the ENA Open Networks Project: 2017 Review session on the first day of the event. 
The session will discuss 'the result of the major project bringing together all seven of the UK's electricity grid operators'; focusing on developments in progress of attracting long-term investment, improving the process and interaction between transmission and distribution networks, and establishing the long term charging requirements of enduring electricity transmission/distribution systems.

Faithful Chanda - Innovation and Low Carbon Networks Engineer at WPD - will be presenting on the CASE STUDY: A DNO's Perspective: Storage, on the second day of the event. Discussions will include energy storage as one of the potential solutions when solving network constraints and the possibilities of energy storage being operated by third parties.
