Working near the electricity network
We've published a report in response to the 2015 UK Regulators’ Network (UKRN) good practice principles for managing infrastructure interactions, whether they are home improvements, local building projects or major infrastructure projects like the electrification of the railway.
We recognise that we have an important role to play in supporting infrastructure projects. Safety is our number one priority and we are keen to promote the importance of it across all its interactions with customers and other third parties.
The report features a range of services that we offer to customers and other third parties to help everyone to work safely near to our electricity network equipment, such as underground cables and overhead power lines.
Following consultation with customers, we have improved access to information for anyone working near our network equipment while also making it easier for customers to contact us, either by telephone, email, via our website or in writing.
The aim of these improvements is to assist customers and third parties to complete their projects in an efficient and economical way, while reducing the risk of damage to the electricity network or causing supply interruptions to customers.
With current customer satisfaction scores of 9 out of 10 across all its interaction services we welcome feedback from all stakeholders to help us continually improve these services. In this connection, if you have any comments about this report or indeed any of our services please share them here
