Here you can find information on relocating an electricity supply, moving electricity equipment and moving electricity meters.
Unsure where to start?
It’s easy to find out if we work in your area, all we need is your site postcode.
You may need to relocate an electricity supply as a result of building work - such as an extension to your home or business. You can apply online here.
Before you begin, make sure you have the following to hand:
You can request for equipment such as cables, overhead power lines, poles and substations to be moved. This might be to make way for new buildings or infrastructure.
You may need to move an electricity meter to make room for additional equipment, such as an isolator.
We can carry out this work if you wish to move your meter and incoming cables. You can apply for this here. Make sure you have the following to hand:
If you only wish to move your meter a short distance (with no change to the incoming cables) then you will need to ask your Electricity Supplier to carry out this work, since they are the legal owner of the meter. To find your supplier, check your electricity bills or take at our ‘Who is my supplier’ tool.
You can either email or post your application to your regional office. Make sure to include any supporting documentation.
