Guidance on connecting a new EV charging point or heat pump
Low carbon technologies are expected to play an important role in achieving the UK’s targets for improving air quality and reducing carbon emissions.
To make the process simpler for installers, the Energy Networks Association created a combined application form which can be used for both electric vehicle charging points and heat pumps. For more information, please visit the Energy Networks Association information pages on electric vehicles and heat pumps, available to view here.
As the use of electric vehicles becomes more common place the demand for charge points is likely to rise and we want to help meet that demand.

The Energy Networks Association (ENA) website has a data base of Heat Pump technologies available on their website. This sets out whether the equipment can be installed under the ‘Connect and Notify’ process or whether you need to submit an application to request connection.
In addition the ENA produced a flow chart to assist the application process. Please note that this is version 5.5 and may have since changed on the ENA website - ENA Combined EV/HP process
