Incentive for Connections Engagement
WPD ICE Workplan 2019/20
2019-2020 is the fifth year of the eight year business plan period called RIIO-ED1- this stands for Revenue = Incentives + Innovation + Outputs for the electricity distribution industry set by the regulator Ofgem. The regulatory framework set by Ofgem is designed to drive clear outcomes for stakeholders and to provide strong incentives for WPD. ICE is one of the incentives set by Ofgem specifically for the area of connections. The WPD 2019/20 ICE Workplan has been created with a range of initiatives in line with our Connections Strategy, using input from our broad range of connection stakeholders through our ongoing programme of stakeholder engagement activities. The priority areas which have been identified as a result of feedback from our engagement activities throughout the 2018/19 period have been used to set the focus areas for the workplan under which the initiatives are grouped.
Our Connection Customer Steering Group panel provide input into these priorities and help us to refine the priorities and areas of focus. The initiatives in the ICE Workplan are designed to provide the changes and improvements required by our stakeholders.
The ICE Workplan will develop though the year where further initiatives are identified through our stakeholder engagement to be added. The new initiatives will be clearly identified when we publish updates so that stakeholders can easily track our progress. It is important to us that all of our stakeholders can engage with our ICE Workplan to ensure that we are meeting their requirements. We have kept the format of the ICE Workplan simple and straightforward to ensure that it is accessible for all stakeholders so that our objectives are clear, concise and can be tracked throughout the year.
Each initiative is numbered according to their focus area, for ease of reference and to track new additions. Initiatives have a target date for completion and a column indicating the measures we will use to identify success. As updates are published there will be a column indicating the current status and progress.
The “Looking Forward and Looking Back” report has been included on WPD website on 31st May 2019.
The report includes a looking back section for the regulatory year 2018/19 and a looking forward section for the regulatory year 2019/20, explaining WPD’s stakeholder engagement strategy and connection activity improvement plans, in line with the Ofgem ICE incentive. The report encompasses the engagement activities in WPD’s four Distribution Service Areas (DSA): South West, South Wales, East Midlands and West Midlands.
