Connections Online Stakeholder Workshop

Nov 25 2020 - Nov 25 2020

You are invited to join our dedicated Connections Stakeholder Workshop - hosted virtually

The electricity network is changing rapidly as we move to a smart network. As a network operator, we are facing a number of challenges as we look to facilitate the transition to a zero-carbon economy. These challenges include the need to connect new technologies such as renewables, energy storage and electric vehicles to the grid while accommodating the projected growth in new homes and commercial development. To help us address these challenges, and as we look forward to our next Business Plan period (RIIO-ED2), it is vital that we engage with key stakeholders to ensure we are meeting your needs.

The purpose of the workshop will be to gain a better understanding of the needs of our stakeholders and to seek their feedback so that we improve the services we provide for customers looking to connect to the electricity network. We also want to provide an opportunity for networking with fellow attendees with shared interests and with senior members of the WPD team.

We promise lively debate, interesting discussion, and a chance to feed directly into our business processes by telling us what we should be doing to improve our connections services. Your feedback will help us to inform and create our connections commitments for the future.

Topics discussed at the workshop will include:

  • Our Connections Strategy in readiness for RIIO-ED2;
  • Strategic Network Investment - supporting the transition to net zero;
  • Low Carbon Technology including electric vehicles (EVs);
  • Digitalisation and Data – what we can do to improve availability of information
