Low Carbon Networks & Innovation (LCNI) Event

Oct 30 2019 - Oct 31 2019

Scottish Exhibtion Centre, Exhibition Way, G3 8YW

The Low Carbon Networks & Innovation Conference (LCNI) brings together experts from across the energy sector which showcases the latest electricity network innovation projects and technology crucial in supporting the sector’s transition to a low carbon energy future.

The conference programme provides unparalleled networking opportunities as well as project focused presentations and workshops that explore significant research and findings and inform the industry on planning the way towards a secure, sustainable and affordable smart grid.

Our Innovation Team will be exhibiting across both days of the conference on stand M04. There will also be various presentations on the following innovation projects:

  • SF6 Alternatives:

See what WPD has been doing to try and minimise the use of SF6 on our network.

  • Next Generation Wireless Telecoms Analysis:

As the network gets smarter and there’s smarter technologies connected we need a smarter communications system, here from our Telecoms team on the latest innovations to use LTE.

  • Network Equilibrium:

Building on our excellent learning from our LCNF Tier-2 project we’ll be talking about all things voltage control, in our deep dive session, and how this can be used to maximise the connectivity to our network.

  • Electric Nation:

As Electric Nation closes in October, we’ll be talking about the great work and learning from charging over 630 vehicles to understand user behaviour and profiles to support the continuing uptake of EVs.
