Local Energy, a Flexible Future - Stafford

Jun 27 2019

Stafford Gatehouse, Eastgate St, ST16 2LT

Community and local energy organisations across the UK are a key part of our changing energy system. As we move towards a decentralised and decarbonised energy future, local and community participation will be key to gaining customers’ trust and engaging people with the changes and benefits of using energy in a smarter and more flexible way.

This series of events, we are holding in partnership with Regen, provides an interactive forum to continue the collaboration and learning that is fundamental to local energy projects. The events will provide community energy groups, local authorities and local energy stakeholders with a ‘Beginners’ guide to flexibility’, supporting attendees to learn about how flexibility services work, and discussing how to provide a service to generate additional revenue. We will explore the latest intelligence from projects happening on the ground, and hear from the most advanced community and local energy projects. Our experts will be on hand to update you on the latest innovation projects, and to help you learn about the emerging value that could be accessed from new flexibility markets.

Flexible Power is about building partnerships that generate income for local organisations and can enable us to accommodate increasing demand for electricity without having to build a larger network, so that customers benefit from a resilient energy supply and reduced future energy costs.
