60 Second Interview

As part of our regular series of interviewing Western Power Distribution staff, we caught up with Swansea Projects Engineer Luke Thomas.
 

What’s your career background?
I have been working for WPD for the past ten years. Before that I was an aviation technician in the Army.

What does your role entail?

I work on the 132kV, 33kV and 11kV networks construction and commissioning equipment like switchboards and transformers, which certainly keeps me on my toes.

What do you enjoy most about the job?

I really enjoy the variety of the role and the team work. It’s busy and each day is different. There’s always something new to do or learn.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I enjoy a busy family life with my wife and two children and I play football for a local club in Neath near my home.
