60 Second Interview

As part of our regular series of interviewing our staff, we caught up with Overhead Technician Paul Selley. 

What’s your background?

I started as an Apprentice Linesman in 1986 and now I am an Overhead Technician based in Exeter.

What did your role in this scheme entail? 

Organising work, staff and contractors, liaising with customers, raising and managing scheme finance and commissioning assets.

What do you enjoy most about the job?

I enjoy working as part of a great team to achieve great results.

What’s the biggest challenge in your current role?

Running large scale contractor works and making sure everything goes smoothly is a challenge, but it’s all part of the job.

What’s your favourite kind of scheme to work on?

I like working on anything with overhead work, especially hot glove as it’s something a bit different.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I play football a lot in my spare time and I like to watch my favourite team, Exeter City, play.
