Donation to Air Ambulance

Western Power Distribution (WPD) has donated an incredible of £2000 to The Air Ambulance Service, which is the umbrella organisation for Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. Thanks to the donation, The Air Ambulance Service was able to purchase a year’s supply of thermal bags for their helicopters, which are used to insulate patients at the scene of an accident and reduce the effects of shock.

During a busy morning of missions Special Projects Manager for The Air Ambulance Service, Jo Payne showed Trevor Richards from WPD the lifesaving helicopter and introduced him to the Air Ambulance crew.

Jo said: “Despite the busy morning of missions, I am glad that Trevor could meet the crew and discover just why this kit is so vital to so many of our patients. We receive no Government or National Lottery funding, so we’re very grateful to WPD for supporting us again this year and look forward to working with them on more projects in the future”

Trevor Richards, WPD’s Distribution Manager for Coventry and Warwickshire said: “WPD is delighted to be able to donate the funds to enable the purchase of such vital equipment for The Air Ambulance Service. As a company we take safety very seriously so we are always keen to support organisations committed to helping to protect the public and to raising awareness of safety. It is fantastic to know that our funding will help the charity to save many lives across the Midlands."
