Emergency roadworks in Lincoln

Emergency roadworks to repair a fault on the electricity network have begun in Lincoln today.

Western Power Distribution has installed temporary four-way traffic lights at the junctions of Monks Road, Oakfield Street and Milman Road in order to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.

Team Manager Dave Naunton said: “Following an incident on the electricity network in Lincoln, we have to replace some underground cable. This work will maintain the security of the electricity supply to over 11,000 of our customers in the north of the city.

“We know these are busy junctions and would like to apologise to motorists for the inconvenience. We are working as fast and as safely as we can to complete the works and hope to have the repair and reinstatement of the road completed by the end of next week.”
