We have published details of our next flexibility procurement round on the Flexible Power website.

We are seeking 238.83MW of flexibility in 38 locations in England and Wales. This brings our operation of flexibility up to 449.7MW across 56 locations.

WPD’s DSO Manager Ben Godfrey said: “Our approach in assessing and procuring our flexibility requirements at six month intervals has allowed us to steadily build upon flex provider confidence, which is evident from the 440MW of flexibility contracts we already have in place and we hope to increase contracted volumes further through this procurement round.

“WPD has been leading as a network operator in this area and we have worked hard to lay solid foundations for the increased focus networks will place on flexibility as we move into our next price control period in 2023.”

Full details of the requirements in each location have been published on the Flexible Power website. The information includes: zone locations, which months each zone needs flexibility, the required availability windows and the MWhs needed to be utilised within each month.

A postcode checker is available to help interested parties determine if they have a suitable site inside our flex locations and a value calculator has been developed to help estimate anticipated revenue.
