Power cut? Now you can report it on Whatsapp

Customers can now get in touch using Whatsapp, after we became the first UK electricity distribution network operator to launch its own Whatsapp account.

Whatsapp is the latest platform that can be used by customers to contact us around the clock. The messaging service is available 24/7 and will be managed by our staff in our Contact Centre.

The move shows our commitment to harnessing the latest technology to ensure greater accessibility for customers.

Chris Griffiths, WPD Contact Centre Manager, said: “Our top priority is to provide a safe, efficient and cost effective service to our customers.

“As part of this, we want to make it as simple as possible for customers to get in touch and to get the answers they need. By joining the Whatsapp community, we are providing another channel for people to contact us if they are experiencing a power cut or have a query about our service.”

Whatsapp has an estimated 1.5 billion users worldwide and is the most popular messaging app.

Customers can also contact us using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, webchat, apps such as our Power Cut Reporter app, or by telephone.
