Powerful gift for disabled Warwickshire children

They raised £400 for leading UK children’s disability charity Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children; this money has funded specialist equipment for two youngsters in Warwick. A four-year-old in the town is now set to get a disability-needs buggy, while a 16-year-old will receive specialist bathroom equipment.

Newlife Lead Nurse Karen Dobson said: “We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone at Western Power Distribution for helping us to help two vulnerable children in the county. We know what a huge difference this will make to the families.”

Collection organiser and team support officer Liz Dawson, who presented the £400 to Newlife Regional Fundraiser Chris Belyavin, said: “When we heard about the work that Newlife Foundation does for these children, we wanted to help especially as Christmas is a time for giving & this was our way of helping. It’s great to know that our collection will make such a difference to two families in the area. We hope to run a collection again next year.”

Newlife Foundation has funded £140,458 of specialist equipment for 107 children in Warwickshire and is currently working with the families of a further three children with equipment needs totalling £1,120.
