Rainbows Santas on the Run derby

The North Midland’s team at Western Power Distribution are one of the key sponsors for this year’s Rainbows Santa Fun Run at Elvaston Castle. Staff at the company are already raising sponsor money and want loads of Santas to join them.

Dave Hewitt, Distribution Manager at Western Power Distribution said: “The Rainbows Santa Fun Run is a great way to start Christmas. Our team is ready early this year to make sure we get plenty of sponsorship money for Rainbows. We’re already swapping hard hats and safety boots for Santa costumes and are asking people to sponsor us. We want loads of budding Santas to sign up early and do the same. Let’s see if we can raise even more than last year!”

Last year 600 Santas of all shapes and sizes walked, jogged and ran their way to raising almost £15,000 for the charity (that’s a lot of days out, play equipment and professional care for the children at Rainbows). This year Rainbows is hoping for an even bigger success. Starting at 11am on the 9thDecember, the Santa’s will be running either 2.2 or 4.4 miles around the picturesque Elvaston Castle. You don’t need to be super fit and the whole family can come along. Everyone who finishes receives a goody bag supported by longstanding sponsors The University of Derby.

The Santa Fun Run registration fee is £10 for adults, and £5 for children under 13. This includes your Santa Suit, goodie bag, medal and certificate.
