Celebrating our engineering heroes for International Women in Engineering Day

Today is International Women in Engineering Day 2021 and we are celebrating our engineering heroes!

The national day profiles the amazing work that women engineers around the world are doing, and not just to respond to the pandemic but also to support lives and livelihoods every day.

It highlights the best, brightest and bravest women in engineering, who recognise a problem, then dare to be part of the solution; who undertake everyday ‘heroics’ as much as emergency ones.

Our staff include incredible women working in the industry. When asked what they love most about their work, here are some of the responses:

"Giving advice to someone considering a career in STEM I would say, go for it!”

“Engineering jobs are absolutely suited to everyone and there’s no reason why anyone can’t do it."

“I’ve got the ability to help people.”

“Every single day and every single night is different.”

“I love the diversity.”

“I like a challenging project that you’ve really got to find the right solution for.”

“My job is so varied and I know that if I’m in the same role in five years’ time, I won’t be bored.”

“What I love most is, I’m getting into a career. I’m getting trained to do something that I’ve always wanted to do.”
