Toad homes go under the hammer!

Pupils from St Dominic's Catholic Primary School have built new homes for toads thanks to funding from Western Power Distribution.

The pupils aged between seven and nine received a special lesson learning about toads, their habitat and how to encourage them to their school nature area last week. Ellen Winter, Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust’s Stroud Community Officer visited the school to give a talk about toads, and to help the children build their own ‘toad homes’ to put in their nature area.

Mr Yolland-Jones, a teacher at the school said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn about toads and their habitats.”
