WPD helps Army in flood relief effort

Western Power Distribution (WPD) is supporting Kettering Borough Council and the Army with their emergency flood relief effort.

The electricity company was approached by the Borough Council who needed to find a large industrial space which they could use with the Army to park, refuel and make up sand bags ready to be sent to flooded areas in the south of the UK.

WPD’s Distribution Manager for the Kettering Depot, Colin Randle said: “When we heard about what was required, we were only too pleased to help. We have been able to let them make use of part of our depot to park vehicles and refuel, as part of the effort to dispatch sand bags to the south of the UK.”
