Bob the Builders equipped for fun in Swansea

Youngsters in Swansea will be well equipped to learn all about playing safely outdoors thanks to funding we were able to provide.

WPD’s Jonathan Loring and daughter Cerys enjoy some building site fun and games with fellow pupils at Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Llwynderw in West Cross, Swansea.

We have donated a variety of building site play equipment to Welsh Medium School Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Llwynderw, West Cross. It includes warning signs, high vis jackets, parking cones, hard hats, a toy cement mixer and plastic bricks

Head teacher Indeg Griffiths explained: “We are committed to developing outdoor fun learning opportunities for our pupils so this equipment is just the ticket. We are grateful to WPD for providing the funding.”

Project Engineer Jonathan Loring whose four-year-old daughter Cerys is a pupil at the school said: “We’re always keen to support initiatives that encourage children to learn through play and to get out and about in the fresh air. This is an ideal way for them to learn some very basic safety rules in a fun way.”

We have a track record of teaching electricity safety to over 50,000 children every year through Crucial Crew and Lifeskills events, and school visits.
