Statement of Works (SOW)

A statement of work (SoW) is a document routinely employed in the field of project management. It is referred to as the narrative description of a project's work requirement. It defines project-specific activities, deliverables and timelines for a vendor providing services to the client. The SOW typically also includes detailed requirements and pricing, with standard regulatory and governance terms and conditions. It is often an important accompaniment to a master service agreement or request for proposal (RFP).

Generation Headroom

This is the amount of generation available on the network without needing reinforcement. 

Reverse power capabilities

This revers to the amount of generation that can go back through the transformer. 

Upstream Demand Headroom

This refers to what is available in voltage levels above the connection point.

Upstream Generation Headroom

This refers to what generation is available in the voltage levels above the connection point. 

Substation Fault Level Headroom

This is the amount of fault level limitation left because of the fault level on the switchgear. 

Power Factor

Power factor is an expression of energy efficiency. It is usually expressed as a percentage - the lower the percentage, the less efficient power usage is. 

Power factor (PF) is the ratio of working power, measured in kilowatts (kW), to apparent power, measured in kilovolt amperes (kVA). Apparent power, alos known as demand, is the measure of the amount of power used to run machinery and equipment during a certain period. 

Active Network Management

In areas where there are multiple complex constraints affecting a number of customers over a long time period, full active network management systems will be implemented. Distributed control systems continually monitor all the limits on the network and then allocate the maximum amount of capacity to customers in that area, based on the date their connection was accepted.
