Network Headroom Report

As per condition 25B of the Electricity Distribution Licence, all Distribution Networks Operators are mandated to publish a statement of network development information. This is called the Network Development Plan, the first publication is due in May 2022.

Western Power Distribution has been working with other Distribution Network Operators as part of the Open Networks project to develop a form of statement for the Network Development Plan. A draft of the report is available here.

Network Headroom Report

As part of designing the Network Development Plan, all DNOs committed to publication of a Network Headroom Report in 2021. This is expected to form part of the wider Network Development Plan publication, and tabulates expected demand and generation headroom available on the primary distribution network under the Distribution Future Energy Scenarios (DFES) projections out to 2050.

The Network Headroom Report for Western Power Distribution can be found at the link below. This includes a table for each licence area, alongside a methodology document.
