Staff's festive fundraising effort

Colleagues from across Western Power Distribution’s (WPD) region donned their best Christmas jumpers today to raise funds for charity.

The national event, which is organised by Save the Children, asks people to wear a festive sweater for the day and make a donation of at least £2 to the appeal.

Teams at WPD’s Nottingham, Castle Donington, Leicester, Telford, Gloucester and Pembrokeshire Offices all joined in sporting an array of fine festive knitwear. Many of the teams also raised extra funds through raffles and cake bakes.

Corporate Communication Officer Stella Hayward said: “It has been great to see so many teams pulling together to raise funds for charity. It has been a lot of fun and we have seen some fantastic jumpers. In total we are hoping to raise at least £1,000, along with a donation from WPD as well.”
