Top of the Class Apprentices

Four of our apprentices have been celebrating success as winners of the annual ‘Apprentice Shield’.

Year on year, high calibre nominees, recommended by their managers, prove that hard work and commitment, along with high standards in their practical and academic work, are recognised and rewarded.

Matt Westwood, from Tipton, Mike Broadhead from Kettering, Ben Roberts from Clydach and Oleg Sorokin from Bodmin are this year’s worthy winners.

Phil Swift, WPD’s Operations Director presented the winners with their awards and congratulated each of them, he said: “We are proud the WPD Apprentice Scheme continues to develop highly skilled staff ready to deliver outstanding levels of customer service and operational performance for our customers.

“Each of you has the skills and qualities needed to excel in your career and I look forward to seeing you develop and reach your full potential at WPD.”

Our proud winners each received £500, an engraved tankard and will retain the regional shield for the next year in their work location.
