A warm Art

The Arts Factory based in the Rhondda Valleys of South Wales will be warmer and more energy efficient this winter thanks to the installation of a new boiler.

Members from the Ferndale community who use the Arts Factory are one of the latest groups to benefit from this year’s Community Chest, a grant scheme which we have funded.

Our Community Chest was designed to help local community owned buildings more energy efficient. £50,000 has been set aside with a maximum grant of £1000 to successful beneficiaries in their network area.

Lisa Wills, Head of Operations at Arts Factory explained: “Our new central heating boiler funded by WPD’s Community Chest Grant Scheme will ensure all our community members stay warm this winter while saving us money on our energy bills too. Our old leaky boiler wouldn’t have lasted us another winter so this couldn’t have come at a better time for us.”

The Community Chest is administered by the Centre for Sustainable Energy, if you think you qualify for one of the grants; please take a look at the application process on www.cse.org.uk/wpdcc
