DCO application accepted by Planning Inspectorate

The Western Power Distribution (WPD) Development Consent Order (DCO) application to build the proposed Brechfa Forest electricity connection was accepted for examination by the Planning Inspectorate on Wednesday, June 24, 2015.

The application will now be examined by the Planning Inspectorate over the next six to nine months and it is anticipated that a recommendation will be made to the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change in summer 2016.

WPD’s Andrew Hubbold said, “We are pleased that the Planning Inspectorate has accepted our application for examination. We believe our proposal strikes the right balance between the opinions of local people and the many factors we have to consider and want to thank everyone who provided feedback throughout the process.”

More details of the examination process, including detailed guidance on registering and making representations and a timetable on what happens next, can be found on the Planning Inspectorate website, http://infrastructure.planningportal.gov.uk/BrechfaConnection.  The plans and supporting documents for the DCO application can also be found there.
