Electrical repair work underway

Repairs to electrical equipment in a substation at Bombardier are due to start this evening.

Western Power Distribution are carrying out the repairs which are expected to take until Friday evening to complete.

During this time, two way traffic lights will be in place on Osmaston Road, opposite the junction with Russell Street, to enable the work to be completed.

Simon Havill, WPD’s Distribution Manager for the area said: “We apologise for any inconvenience during the course of these essential works. Our aim is to keep any disruption to an absolute minimum while our work is being undertaken.

“We’ve been in discussion with Derbyshire City Council to agree traffic management which creates the least disruption to traffic flow in the area and we have arranged to supervise the traffic lights between 7am and 7pm to minimise any issues as far as possible.”
