More than Ten-ov-us help out

In the past two years, staff at our Welsh depots have donated an amazing 2,229 bags of unwanted items to shops run by cancer charity Tenovus Cancer Care.

WPD staff are continuing to support Tenovus by donating their unwanted items. Pictured (left to right) are WPD staff Tom Blackmore, Gemma Bullock and Jamie Hall.

The donations are worth over £44,000 to the charity and were collected from donation stations set up at our depots across South and West Wales.

Clare Gallie from Tenovus Cancer Care said: “We are hugely grateful to everyone at WPD. Every bag donated is worth a minimum of £20 and the stock goes to our shops to be sold. The money raised helps us to provide vital services to cancer patients and their families.”

WPD Corporate Communication Manager, Paul Bishop said: “This is a simple but very effective way of helping Tenovus raise much needed funds. Donation boxes were placed in our depots across South and West Wales for our staff to drop off their unwanted items.

“It has proved to be very popular, and it is wonderful to think that in just two years we have helped provide significant revenue towards Tenovus’ fundraising.”
