New flexibility tender has been launched

WPDs flexibility team has released another opportunity for WPD customers to make money from their flexibility of energy demand and generation.

Owners and operators of assets connected on the WPD network that have the ability to reduce their energy consumption or export energy at peak times when we have high demand could receive a financial incentive and are encouraged to register here to find out more . WPD bi-annually procures flexibility to support its management of a smart and efficient network, enabling a greater volume of demand, generation and storage to be connected.

This tender covers 41 locations, approximately a third of WPDs network in the Midlands, South West & South Wales which have a combined peak requirement of 278.34MW. Potential assets need to be situated within a constraint management zone (CMZ), within WPD’s network to be eligible. Full details of the CMZs included in our current procurement round have now been published to the Flexible Power website here.
