Our new diversity, equity and inclusion plan has launched

We are strengthening our commitment to diversity in our workforce and enabling people to bring their best selves to work through the launch of a new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Plan.

Embracing different viewpoints and ways of thinking is vital when it comes to meeting the challenges of net zero and fulfilling our RIIO-ED2 Business Plan pledge of leaving no one behind when it comes to accessing the smart grid of the future.

WPD Resources and External Affairs Director Alison Sleightholm says: “At WPD we recognise that we need to do more to attract and support women and other protected groups into senior roles, as these groups are currently under-represented within leadership roles across WPD."

“But we also recognise that DE&I is about more than statistics. It’s about ensuring that everyone who works for WPD feels welcomed and accepted, whatever their life circumstances.”

Actions include:

•    Building a network of diversity champions
•    Developing a mentor programme
•    Increasing diversity awareness training
•    Increasing support of STEM events.
