Safety poster competition winner

An artistic pupil from Highnam Church of England Academy Primary School in Gloucestershire has scooped the top prize at this year’s Royal Three Counties Show in the Children’s Art and Design Safety Poster Competition.

Year 4 pupil, Macauley Clifton was declared the overall winner and received a £15 book token, a framed copy of his winning poster and a £200 cash prize for his school.

The competition stemmed from workshops at the show we've sponsored. They attracted over 100 young artists from schools across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Pupils were invited to use their skill and imagination to design a drawing illustrating ‘How to stay safe around electricity’.

WPD’s Education Liaison Officer, Ruth Adams said: “The overall standard of entries was excellent, and the youngsters delighted us with their creative ideas.”

Prize-winning posters were on display at WPD’s award winning stand during the Show.
