Stoke depot Christmas gifts

Our kind-hearted colleagues at Stoke depot raised £635 to buy gifts for underprivileged families & children in the area. The team raised the funds in just two weeks and then Team Support Laura Jones and Planner Mandy Williams took on the epic task of using the cash to buy all the gifts and wrap them.

Mandy said: “Following the generous cash donations from all of our colleagues here at Stoke, we were able to buy and donate 150 presents and a large number of boxes of chocolates and selection boxes. We wrapped them all and donated them to our local Sure Start centre who work with social services and local women’s refuges and they will distribute the gifts amongst them.

Debbie Burgess from Mary Hill Children’s Centre in Kidsgrove, Stoke on Trent who took delivery of some of the gifts for children supported by the centre, said: “I was so overwhelmed when Mandy and Laura turned up at the centre with the gifts. They are amazing and will go to so many families who are struggling and some who may not get any other gifts this year. I can’t thank Mandy and the team at National Grid enough for choosing to help us help these families.”
