The awards are designed to recognise and reward the outstanding work, care, innovation and services, across the health and care sectors.

This year we sponsored the Volunteer of the Year award category which was won by volunteer Pat Evans.

Pat volunteers at the Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, and regularly gives up between 10 to 15 hours of her time each week to help support staff and patients.

Her work has been described as remarkable and she is seen as a mother figure to newly recruited volunteers, offering them all the help, support and advice they need.

She also shows a huge amount of kindness and thoughtfulness to the patients.

WPD Team Manager Mark Phillips who presented Pat with her award said: “Pat is a very worthy winner, her positive outlook enriches the lives of patients and staff alike. Congratulations must also go to everyone who was shortlisted.”
